Songbird, Would You Sing Me a Song Today?

 

Look at this sweet smile.  It looks as if she is smiling at someone who has just said something very swee to her.

This piece measures 4 x 4 x .75 inches.  It was created on an artist panel.

I know it's been a long time since I have posted, and all I have to offer is this tiny little piece, but I have been working on something very important.  I have been busy with the creation of a piece I will be donating to our local Alzheimer's Association.  The fundraiser is titled "Reflections" and myself and over 30 artists are donating mirrors which will be auctioned.  When I finish the piece I will take a picture and post it.  It should only be a couple more days.  I have to say it looks pretty stunning so far!

Where are You Going?

 

Stop running away, stop quitting...  Trust that this is where you belong.

This piece was created on 10 x 10 inch watercolor board, and then mounted to studio wrapped canvas. My scan bed is only 8.5 inches wide so you ar missing a little off of the left and right side.  I will be piecing the two scans together and will update the post with a complete scan.

"The Words I Cannot Find"

 

What if... All is Lost in the Words I Cannot Find?  Words are so hard to come by when you are such an abstract person... Someone who is visual may find it difficult to put to words her feelings... and she fears so much could be lost.

This work measures 10 x 20 inches.  I had to scan it into 4 pieces and piece them together digitally.  Sometimes, and this is rare... the scanner light will reflect off the shinier spots where pieces were glued to the top layer... This happened on this where I placed the words.  So I will have to do the scanning process over after applying the final coat of varnish to the piece.  But... at least then I should have a slide/print/blog ready file.

This piece brings me back to "Literal and Abstract"  

I struggle with abstract thoughts, and I feel a lot is lost in translation...
