This is What Forever Means...

Forever is the promise of never forgetting someone... for even if you are no longer together, the experiences you shared will be with you your entire lifetime...  Please remember me even when I am no longer your friend...

Yeah for me!  I managed to finish a piece before this weekend!

So tomorrow morning bright and early, we are off to Omaha for the Omaha Summer Art's Festival...  I hope we don't cook in the hot hot sun!

July 6th, I hang my Artwork in the Ritual Cafe, Downtown Des Moines.  I will be having a reception July 18th from 5-7pm.  Everyone is invited!  I should have time to breathe and get a few new pieces done before the 6th... we'll see!

Back to Minnesota I go... This time to the fabulous Stone Arch Festival of the Arts!

How's This One for Happy!

 

"Her Innocence is Brilliant"

Isn't she just the sweetest thing!  In the photo she was holding hands with another girl... I see the kindest heart possible in this child... Her light shines bright and she is brilliant.

I used crackle medium in random spots on this piece.  I painted the background and then dripped different colors down on top of the wet paint.  When dry I brushed the crackle on in a few spots... I'm mentioning this because I find it interesting that I had different results on the different areas of paint even though the crackle was put down in even thicknesses where applied... I have large, small and tiny crackle in strips where the paint dripped.

This is another work inspired by a journal page.  Each piece done from my journal will have a special tag with a copy of the page attached to it.  I am sorry, but you will only get to see the journal pages if you purchase the artwork, or you can come and see them at one of my shows!  HA!  How's that for temptation!

I have to credit Avril Lavigne.  Although the lyrics are not exact, it was her song Innocence that inspired this piece.  My daughter had it on while I was journaling...

Come and See Me!

Hey everyone!  I'll be in Excelsior, Minnesota Next Weekend...  Come and see me, booth 126! 

I'm busy getting some small "happy" pieces done, along with plenty of prints and cards...all a part of making sure there is something for everyone available for purchase.
