I know my art can seem sad, or even dark.
And as my boyfriend well stated: "People need to realize that each of your pieces represents a moment in your life. These moments could have occurred at any given time."
And to elaborate on his words: These moments were most likely brief, but a few may have been not so brief.
Junctures in my life that have been documented through writings and sketches so I would not forget.
They wait for the perfect photograph, or surface. They wait patiently for precious time found in the studio where I will revisit these glimpses when preparing to begin a new piece.
My point is that many times you are looking into a little window from a past moment in my life. It could have been days, months, even years in some cases, but in most it is a significant twinkle that has passed. No worries.
This piece measures 9" x 30" x 1.5". I wish it were a better scan. Scanned in 3 sections and put together in software, makes for a less than perfect result.
Little Pieces of Art Buy My Art
Beautiful. I am sometime (often) inhibited by the vulnerability of making art that will be viewed by others. But there is the drive to make art and when it is quenched, so am I.
You help me be brave. xo

Your work tends to seem sad because it is. There were sad moments that you experienced and you are just expressing what you have felt in your life. I too lived many sad moments in my life and have been working on them for quite some time and I have done it through emotional expression, you are doing it through your art.
Either way it's a good thing. Most people hold it in and never discuss it. The best thing any person can do with those painful and hurtful moments is to express the feelings that were felt and then let them go. It is the work we are all needing to go through now so that we can be free to live a peaceful and joyful life. What we were not lead to believe was that we are perfect the way that we are already.....in our own way.
Your art work is your expression and it is wonderful as it is. I love your style. Thanks for your courage to express it to the world.

Hello you,
I know it is kind of late to reply... but I am sure you will forgive me :) I know you understand how vulnerable we are when we put ourselves out there... it has been exceptionally challenging for me lately.
I miss you.
Take care,
Brandie
